I came across these comments when looking for something else, and yes, I do know they are old. Anyway, I think if you’re going to criticise Carol Voderman then you should at least have got your grammar correct!

5*100=500
9+2=11
10-4=6
11*6+500=566

9-2 = 7
5*100 = 500
7*10 = 70
500+70-4 = 566

Simple really. Obviously too much trouble for Vorderman.

Yeah, I got it after about 10 mins (I was multitasking).

To be fair, it was tricky, by countdown standards, but not silly difficult.

I’m not going to e-mail it you, because, well, I can’t be bothered, but it is correct, and is probably the same method you used.

Any by the way, I didn’t use any of that fancy crap, I used addition, subtraction, and multiplication (and brackets if you are being pedantic, but you’re allowed them as well).
