Yes I have heard about this winter doldrums syndrome, but I feel the same way, even when its 30 degrees in Sunny Singapore. I think it's like post production blues. You have this great event like Christmas and New Year's and then - nothing.

So, I start planning for the next holiday and it cheers me up no end. Ours would be 4 days off for Chinese New Year in Feb, so I am booking tickets and making plans for a little getaway. Its something to look forward to and surfing travel websites is heaps more fun than work eh?

What's good about January is that it is the beginning of another year - what more could anyone want! January sets the foundation for the year ahead, time to make plans, objectives and so on.

Put that pound coin into another slot machine and you might just win this time!

Take care,
Mike.

I don't get the winter blues. In fact, I am usually never a down person. I do feel less than inspired to post lately. I think it is mostly just laziness...

coughcoughcough its like 25 degrees minimum here, sunny all the time and awesome.... coughcoughcough

but not wanting to be TOO big a c**t, embrace the british/irish winter. at least we get four proper seasons, most in the world get: hot, or, hot and terrential-family-killing-monsoons. I do agree, i dislike the winte months, but just think how we coped back in third year: drinking. The british would live 10 years longer, if we didnt have our winters. why? our solution is getting drunk. And dude, i'd rather live til 65 and be pissed, than 75 and naturally happ in witer ;)

peace, im done.

Sounds like SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) to me. Perhaps a mild case. Much of my paternal family is in England/Wales and all of them have gone through this. It's part of living in a Northern area where daylight is in short supply for part of the year. All of them have tried light therapy with excellent results. If you find you are sinking on a regular basis, you might want to check it out.

Hope you're feeling more chipper soon!

I suffer in the winter months. I can't stand the dark, miserable mornings and evenings. My motivation takes a dive and I just long for some sunshine.

Hopefully the evenings will start to brighten up soon.
