The Weblog Translation Quiz

A couple of days ago, some Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey, visited this site from Google France. Of course, he arrived through one of the many translators on the site, so he was reading “L’evangile selon Rhys”.

This gave me an idea.

Below are 20 weblogs from my sidelist. One guess only please. They are translated into a foreign language. Work out which blogs are which.

  1. Parfaitement défectueux
  2. Un voyage de types aux terres loin
  3. Pensées aléatoires d’un esprit dérangé
  4. Se pencher pour des pommes
  5. Garcon de Diamant
  6. Máscara do Macaco
  7. Dinero del micrófono que hace la misión
  8. albaricoque trece
  9. Sourire sous des autobus
  10. incisione di vita
  11. einfach ich
  12. furchtsame Ente
  13. Le Beau Jeu
  14. Qui a mangé tous pâtés en croûte
  15. fougère de neurologie
  16. den kreativen Jungen auflockern
  17. Fleischpaddy
  18. stagno o busto nero
  19. Blog au sujet de votre Blog
  20. piment de l’Alaska

Yes, It’s quick and easy blogging. I’m busy on a few secret projects. You know them soon enough!

PS. Only ONE answer per person please!

    I don’t like this game!

It’s no good translating blogs that link here, because surely they want to guess their own blog name – I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes by guessing someones blog when they want to answer themselves (11 = Simply Me)

    Heh heh heh

  2. Debbie says:

Oh how I laughed at ‘cheese eating surrender monkey’, so much that they shall be called this by me from now on heh.
I think I have about 10 of the 20 done in my head, it’s been a long time since I was required to translate anything other than ‘One beer please’ but the one I shall go for..is number 20 Alaskan chilli by any chance ;)

  3. Celeste says:

Errrmmm why am i the only one with what looks like German translation?

  4. Rhys says:

Celeste: Your not. There’s 16 too. Besides, it was too obvious in french/spanish/italian/portugese :)

  5. Sibz says:

Fleischpaddy is meatPaddy by any chance? This is fun!

  6. Sibz says:

Ooh, and I’m back in the bay on Sunday for just over a week and I’d very much enjoy the odd pint now and then :-)

  7. Han says:

    4. Se pencher pour des pommes
ducking for apples, woo :D I’m good!

  8. Han says:

and why arent I on there grrr! (yes I know a13 is)

  9. Merrick says:

If I point out that “piment de l’Alaska” is *obviously* Alaskan Chili, can I have another go? ;)

  10. Merrick says:

Haha, okay so I hadn’t read the comments and didn’t realize Debbie’d pointed out Alaskan already. :P I just woke up, okay? ;)

My second guess is that “Parfaitement défectueux” is Perfectly Flawed, as défectueux sure sounds like “flawed” to me. But then, I speak bad Spanish, not bad French.

  11. Matthew says:

woohoo 19 blog about your blog?

  12. Guy says:

    2 = me – too easy!

i think you need to get out more dude ;)

  13. Dawn says:

I was just about to comment something similar Guy!!

I suck at forgein languages, but just for you Rhys, in the spirit of the game, I’ll make a vaguely educated guess that no.14 is ‘Who ate all the pies’. Oui??
