It’s not impossible to predict the winner Rhys, I won for the fourth year in a row yesterday - but you have to bet on up to 6 horses to win, and pick them using the historical ‘winner type’ rules (I blogged them on Thursday). Must admit this year was the best win at Â£115 profit though, don’t normally get a winner with such high odds.

I didn’t put any proper bets on. I did however get Slim Pickings and Philson Run in the work sweepstake, who came 3rd and 4th respectively, so I won Â£7 for 3rd, and Â£3 for 4th, giving me a profit of Â£8 Slim Pickings could have won, but couldn’t catch Silver Birch on the home straight, AND got overtaken by McKelvey as well at the last second. Bah!!

Didnt win the double rollover on our bonus ball game though. Dammit!

Wow… it’s 10pm and I’m the first person to laugh at you for being one of the many people who probably lost today moahaha.

I won on an each way bet on McKelvey, but only made Â£3.36 when I bet a total of Â£10 (5 horses) so I guess I also lost… just not as badly as you hehe

When I was at work I got to choose the horses Steve bet on, the one he chose came last and mine came 5th! MWAHAHHA and I only chose it cos I liked its name - he was all concerned with the odds!

I rarely bet on the National properly but sometimes my mates and I get an informal one going.
The ones I am going for this year are the favourite Joes Edge, then Longshanks (great minds eh lol) and as an outsider Cloudy Bays. I always have some on an outsider just incase.

The only thing I don’t like about the National is the injuries/death some of the horses pick up even though it’s to be expected as with any sport. I am a bit too soft to watch the actual race just incase of accidents.
