I received an email from Ankesh Kothari following my Make Easy Beer Money From Adsense, Text Link Ads and Other Means. He wanted to tell me about a new plugin.
Hi,
Found your blog through technorati.com
You may like this WordPress plugin: it allows you to add “Buy Me a
Beer” PayPal donation buttons under all your blog posts.http://www.blogclout.com/blog/goodies/buy-me-a-beer-paypal-donation-plugin/
Now, this email did seem like a general copy and paste job, as it appeared in a lot more popular blogs recently. It’s amazing how a plugin, marketed correctly, can catch the imagination of the (shudder) blogosphere.
Either that, or we’re a bunch of Alcoholics.
So, leading from that. What is your favourite poison? Mine is Boddingtons, but I love Real Ale too and foreign lagers. It’s because I’m a bit of a snob – they just taste better than commercially released piss weak lager. It’s like the difference between a proper cuban cigar and an exhaust pipe, or the difference between Leo Tolstoy and The Sun. Therefore, I love real ales, and when it comes to Real Ales – I have two favourites.
The first is Great Orme’s Brewery “Orme’s Best”, a cracking ale based locally in Conwy. I’ve yet to find the Brewery, but if they do tours I’m interested. Truth be told, if I was to pick one beer to drink for the rest of my life, it’d be this. It’s light yet not fizzy, and very very tasty – and well liked for anybody who likes beer. If you’re ever in North Wales, I urge you to try it.
The second of my favourites is Rebellion Ale. Guy introduced me to it on my trip down to Marlow last year, and they brew three ales – Red, White and Blonde. Red is the dark, fruity, traditional ale, white is the sweet continental style ale, but the real cracker is the blonde. It is a lager like in colour, and cool crisp and fresh. A very good starting point for those who want to try something a little different.
So, they’re my favourite tipples, what are yours?

The link you have used to enter the PayPal system contains an incorrectly formatted item amount.
Not that I was actually gonna buy you one, but still, probably best if the link works
I recon they’ve made a typo on their plugin. it should say “buy me a kitten over paypal” hehe
I think you know what I’m gonna say is my favourite tipple!!
Vodka Lime and Lemonade comes a close second!
I wonder if there is an e-gold version?
Hi Rhys,
Just read your comment about our Orme’s Best beer (now known as just ‘Orme’), well I am truly flattered by your comments and would be pleased to show you round the brewery. We’re going through a bit of an expansion at the moment but once that’s finished, say in late November, give me a shout and if you want to pop in you are most welcome.
Regards
Jonathan
