EA Playground for the Wii Could Be Amazing

Every so often a game comes around that makes me think “this could be a brilliant game if they can pull it off right.”.

Suprise suprise, EA Games has come up with one: EA Playground.

As a purist, I’m required to hate EA due to their lack of innovation. EA Playground could go some way to win me over. Basically, your Mii character plays in a “Playground” with other Miis, and plays a number of smallish playground games.

As a child of the last generation to experience a large “play time” at school, I still look on misty eyed to the massive games of Bulldog we played every break at Ysgol Pen-Y-Bryn. At the moment, the games are a bit US-Centric, but if they include Bulldog, that’d be ace.

What playground game would you like to revisit?

Also, onto the weekend, where I’m meeting up for a few mates for a few drinks, it’s in preparation for My First Stag Do Everâ„¢. Of course, what happens on the stag do stays on the stag do, but I’ll see if I can sneak in a few juicy snippets. We’re going to Liverpool for it, but the chances of The Squelchy are small, largely because we’re hiring a minibus, driving there, and driving back the same night.

On top of that, I’m heavily considering investing in Super Mario Strikers for the Wii – largely because Tom has and I fancy giving him a kicking. It seems like an ace game, but I could be wrong. Is it £35 well spent?

Its not £35 well spent, its £28.47 (or less if you can find a voucher) well spent. Let me know when you get it!

  2. Ryan says:

It can never be as good as pro evo.

On playground they could put kiss chase on there… you actually have to kiss your tv. Red rover was good too… not sure how you’d get that to work though.

I feel my creative effort at commenting yesterday will be wasted on deaf ears.

Jacob: Thing is I’ve got HMV Gift Vouchers, so it’ll only really cost me a tenner.

That being said, F-Zero X was released for the Virtual Console, really fancy that too!

Ryan: I noticed it, I didn’t feel like justifying it with a response :) , and I suspected either you or Celeste would say “Kiss Chase”

    DEAD DOOR!
    best-game-ever!

It basically involved running at the rickety shed door as fast and hard as you could without the teacher seeing you!

Mario Strikers is meant to be really good! I got mario 64…on the DS!! :D !

  5. Sibz says:

Danny 1-2-3. That was a Pen-y-bryn favourite wasn’t it Rhys? Basically for those of you unfortunate enough not to have heard of it, or to not be Welsh (You poor sad people), its hide and seek, but with a twist. You go off and hide, but then once the person whos “it” comes to find you, you then have to run back to the starting position without them tagging you. Great fun

  6. HB says:

If you get Mario Strikers, I will too…

  7. Tom Hawkey says:

Just get on and buy it damn you.
