I’ve had a rather busy 24 hours, below are some of the highlights.

Contemplated Firebombing The FA

The FA have been trying to restructure Colwyn Bay‘s league for a few weeks now, splitting it into two sections. The FA was after a North/South split (which would put Colwyn Bay in the “Southern League”) but a lot of clubs were after an East/West split (which would put Colwyn Bay in the “Western League”), including ourselves. There are two motorways that run through the UK – the M1 (which goes along the east side of the country) and the M6 (which runs along the left side of the country). It is relatively harder and more expensive to get from East to West.

Anyway, the FA in their infinite wisdom voted for a North South split, which means instead of playing teams like Lancaster and Clitheroe (and also FC United), we play teams like Spalding and Brigg who are miles away. Even a team called Quorn! I thought we were scraping the barrell a few years ago with Vauxhall Motors, but a team named after a meat substitute? That’s bad.

Either way, the FA have proven once again they’re a bunch of shortsighted cunts who believe there isn’t a world outside of the league or indeed London (in fact, the only reason we split up was because the London teams didn’t want to travel east). I truly believe that – despite what the organisation boasts – it doesn’t represent football as a whole in England, only a minority.

Still, onwards and upwards, after last season we are confident to advance and hopefully get promoted after one season. That being said, if they were standing in the street now, I would be tempted to kick Geoff Thompson, Brian Barwick and – yes – even Prince William in the bollocks.

Got My Hair Cut

I got my hair cut today. I don’t particularly like the experience of getting my hair cut. I hate making small talk with people who live only to go to Ibiza for three weeks a year, but I feel it is a necessity – like waxing, working out and wearing high heels – that the human race goes through to hopefully do the squelchy with each other. With that in mind, I toddled off to the hairdressers in the Bay.

First thing: I was made to wait for my haircut because they were talking about “How amazing Daniel was last night!”. Trust me sugar, I am better. Once the most pointless discussion was over, I got my hair cut.

I don’t like it.

It’s too short.

And I’m receding. No way I will pull with this hairdo!

Got My Money

Things are beginning to progress with my holiday now. Packing hasn’t officially started, but I do have a list of things I should pack. The list is increasing by the minute (That reminds me, I need my “Just In Case Items”. If you ask, you don’t need to know…), and it feels odd too that now I’ve also got my currency.

I already prefer our notes, these feel like they’ve been knocked together by a class of three year old (ever did that in school, make recycled paper? Well, they feel a bit like that). Plus they have boring architecture as opposed to cool people on their notes. People who are interested in architecture and nothing else are inherently boring (trust me, I used to know a couple in my first year, dull as dishwater), people who are interested in people are cooler – all of you are these people.

Anyway, enough of the notes, and the real reason I dragged you from your morning coffee. I need advice on which book to take with me on the plane. I’ve started reading loads recently, and can easily finish books (I’m a very fast reader). I never was a big reader until my brother gave me Have a Nice Day a few years ago, and loved every page of it.

Anyway, I feel I need a book or two to read for the train and plane, otherwise I could get bored. Today you are all going to help me choose. What do you recommend? What do you reckon I would enjoy? Providing it’s not chick lit or mis lit, I’ll be happy.

Finally, long time reader and great mate Zandr’s doing a charity bowling marathon for Breast Cancer. To donate any amount (which is greatfully recieved), please click here. Also not so long time reader but nice girl (and Ryan’s missus) Sarah is also raising money, you can donate to her here
