As I write this, my brother has left the Uk, flying to Dubai, then on around Australia, New Zealand and Thailand on the kind of holiday most of us only dream of. He’s quite a jet setter, and just loves the thought of travelling, almost talking about it to the point of boring me to death. But he wants travel advice, so any advice on these countries, please let me know.
But this is not his blog, this is my blog.
Yesterday I had such a productive day it was unbelievable. I’m usually very lazy, but I spent a few hours pottering around my blog, fixing things, promoting things, link exchanging and the like. Just general stuff to get The Gospel out there.
However, one thing was majorly exciting – paying off my holiday!
Come September 21st, I will be buggering off again. Not in a plane this time, but by coach, on a Contiki trip around Europe for two weeks. The map of my journey – which is largely to tick off a number of countries – is this:

It’s 14 nights in all (though I may book an extra few nights in London, catch up with people), and it begins in September. I’m particularly looking forward to Munich, as I’ll be there during the Oktoberfest, which is on my “50 things to do before I die” (between write a book and trip over Jade Goody), and Monaco, as I want to see Monte Carlo for the casino and as a closet F1 fan. However I’m sure all will be brilliant.
I suppose I should also inform you of the plan whilst I’m away travelling around Europe. Surprisingly I am planning on blogging, though not much. As a result, and due to the fact that the blog was dire in Portugal, I’m planning on doing a few guestblogger spots. I don’t know how many I will get, maybe 4 or 5, but if you fancy blogging on this site (of course you can link back to your own site, and on top of that I’m planning a revenue sharing scheme, so that 50% of all Adsense impressions on your post will be your Adsense link).
At the moment, it’s nothing more than a show of hands, let me know if you’re interesting kinda thing, but if you are, hell, either contact me or let me know in the comments!

Sounds like a great trip. I would love to do something like that in Europe.
Crikey moses thats a hell of a lot to take in 2 weeks! It’ll be awesome! Good luck and enjoy!!
If the Contiki experience is anything like i’ve heard from NZ Contiki goers… your going to have a great time and get to know the people on your bus VERY well….
I’ll do a guest blog
and which bits of Aus is ur bro going to? Id highly recommend a groovy grape outback tour from Adelaide to Alice! and he HAS to stop at 1770 on the east coast to do the Scooteroo chopper tour – that was fantastic!
I would recommend (not having been to any of those places) that your brother doesn’t befriend any cute looking snakes or spiders… that snake in Jungle book pretended to be nice, but was secretly evil.
I was going to speculate on how much that all cost, but I don’t think that I’d dare!!
I’ll do a guestblog about kittens and bunny rabbits!
hehe, Dubai = vvv hot, he HAS to do the desert truck ride thing, he might get loads of marrage proposals too…., Thailand is full of prostitutes!
Monaco is THE most expencive city in the world!
If you get really desperate I’ll do a spot of guest blogging! I’m so jealous of your trip it’s going to be assume. Well done you. Let me know when you are in London.
That does look like a quality trip. Monaco, Amsterdam, Munich, all sounds awesome. Pretty cool to experience lots of different countries too (even though some of them are cheese eating surrender monkeys – hehe). I’d be up for a guest blog spot, having never done one it could be an interesting foray for me to the other side of the monitor as it were. Plus you wouldn’t need to worry about me over linking / adsensing stuff ‘cos I don’t have anywhere to promote myself!
Looks like a cool trip Rhys lad. I imagine the 2 weeks would be pretty manic. Did 3 weeks on a similar route last summer in a camper van, drive by night chill/tourist stuff by day. Was great tho.
Wasn’t overly impressed by Monaco, in fact a little disappointed. Mainly because there was no where to park our cool (but too tall for the car parks) VW camper, except for on the harbour/dock in the middle of the International Yacht show and it was getting snobby looks from all the rich folks in Rolls & Bentley’s. I’d like to give it a second chance, maybe try the casino’s and the Grand Prix circuit in something which does 0-60 quicker than the camper. Walking may do the trick!
Italy was definitely the highlight. Such as great place to go. And Oktoberfest sounds great. Esp. if they sell lots of Guiness in massive jugs.
Thanks for the google ads last night btw. Will mention commision to the boss if they helped.
Where is he going in Australia?
I can proudly say I’ve been to 7 of those 10 places and they are some of the best places in the world that I’ve seen. Have you been to any of them (besides London) before? I went to Munich, but it’ll be completely different during Oktoberfest. You’ll have a hectic time it’ll be awesome I’m sure!
But, the coolest city I think I’ve seen would have to be Dubai! It’s absolutely bizarre, your brother has good taste. The coolest city, and the coolest country (Australia..der). Actually I’ve always wanted to go to Thailand.
Goodluck paying it off… You could always get into the adult entertainment industry???
Wow I am totally jealous, Oktoberfest in Germany is the best ever, have a stein or two for me while you are there! I look forward to hearing which cities are the best/worst on the trip.
Lets hope you aren’t stuck on a coach with a bunch of complete idiots, although it could make for some more good blog stories.
Whew! Sounds great! I’ll be happy to guest blog for you!
*Puts hand up to guest blog*
I’m from New Zealand and don’t mind your brother contacting me if he has questions.
Been to the Netherlands and would recommend Groningen (NE ish of Netherlands) and well worth visiting the Afsluitdijk ( a massive man-made Dike thing with a road along it that runs for miles)
.
Re b’s message:
Is it too easy for me to say how much Rhys would enjoy a man-made dike?
I’ll get my coat….
Luxembourg is well worth the stop. been their several times and always find something new to see.
