- So I was looking for an RSS Logo for the Fair Review Blog, and look what google turned up (third image). Please explain why?
- I saw this story on the BBC to make Real Ales More Friendlier For Girls. It’s ironic to consider that the last time they tried making bitter’s more female friendly, they created Lager (which is now the most popular alcoholic drink amongst men). As you could probably tell, I’m a bitter and real ale drinker. I quite like being in the minority. I look down on the Fosters and Carling drinkers of this world. If more women could appreciate it though, that’d be good. What’s your poison?
- It’s only been out for a few weeks, and there is already a NES emulator for the iPhone
- From Han comes the best video game/movie tie in. Minsweeper: The Movie
- To lower the tone from Tech Digest comes Wee Sports. A high tech version of Urinal Subbuteo. Basically, you use your natural jetstream to guide a car home. It’s to prevent accidents on the road from drunk drivers, so it has a good message!

My preferred poison is John Smiths or Tetley’s - as an afficionado I’m sure you’ll laugh in the face of my choice, however I would give my right arm for a decent pint of Smiths!
I currently live in Australia and everything over here is lager (although rather ironically not Fosters!) and although a few pubs do a few bitter imports I’m yet to find a decent pint of warm brown beer.
Hardy and hansons “Bitter” that is no more after they were bought out
Thwaits at the Pen is a personal favourite, and down here in Bath we have two breweries which have delights such as “Bellringer”, “Gem” and “Wild Hare”.
There is obviously very few girls who regularly drink ales, but in places where they are more widely drunk (such as Nottingham or Bath where I’ve lived), then most girls are willing to try, and some quite like them - you’ve got to be careful not to pick a really dark, bitter, 5.5% one or something, but that Hardy and Hansons “Bitter” was liked by lots of females in Notts
Ha! Loved the Minesweeper trailer
Now there’s an RSS icon to pull in the punters.
Geedos - im over in Aus travelling and i totally agree about the lack of good piss!
Best i’ve come across so far is James Squire - he makes good beer!!
It’s all about rebellion for ales for me
I don’t even know what the difference is and I couldn’t name a single bitter or real ale. I am a bad person.
I’m glad someone else can feel my pain! It’s no good chatting to the locals here - they just don’t understand!
Not dis-heartened though my search will continue, which has the rather pleasant upside of visiting as many drinking establishments as possible until I locate a half decent ale.
It’s a dirty job but someone’s got to do it.
