I like to think I have achieved something when people who have no interest in football go out of their way to find the football results of Colwyn Bay, especially as they are quite a bugger to get hold of their results. Nevertheless, Tom (who does have an interest in football) did point out I didn’t mention the result from Saturday.

Which is fair, as it wasn’t that great.

We drew 2-2, which thankfully means we’re still in the cup, but only for a moment of brilliance and a moment of madness we would’ve been through. After 20 minutes, we were 2-0 down, and struggled against a dogged opposition. Fingers crossed for us on Tuesday.

Occassional commenter Joel did notice something: I make an appearance in the team photo for this year! See if you can spot me.

Football aside, I did have a great weekend. Saturday evening was spent in fabulous company with Vicky - who long time readers may know that she went to Japan to teach. Anyway, she came back for a bit and we’ve caught up well. Was interesting though a discussion with Vicky’s friend Lorna, who asked me if I was on Facebook. We then got in a big discussion on why people share facebook addresses rather than phone numbers. Do you find that if - like me - when you come in from a night out with new people that you scour facebook to find them? I suppose it’s easier to do some research on people before asking for something like a phone number. Maybe it can be used as a whole new way of dating, what do you think?

Finally, on Friday I finally made it to Speakers Corner in the Bay. Speakers Corner always appealed to me as it is the closest thing we’ve got to a trendy wine bar, it is an oasis of liberal intelligence in a town full of people who either read the Daily Mail, or can’t read at all.* The excuse that I could go there was to see The Racketears, a band with an old school friend as the bassist. Was a great night, and I do recommend listening to their music. It’s brilliant.

Was a little worse for wear the day after, but what the hey, I’m only young once.

* Massive Generalisation there, I know.

cant decide which one’s you! either in the white t-shirt and shorts or in the blue walking to the left!!

Still nice claim to fame - not quite as impressive as the bloke in the Man U one a while back ;)

As for the facebook thing… its so true! Had a very nice evening out and met two gorgeous girls but for some reason i opted to get their facebooks (one gave me their number!) - have to admit i was too intimidated to ask for a number - plus im moving on in a week so whats the point?! Then again whats the point in getting there facebook… hmmm….. *goes off to ponder*

I would say the person in blue also.
I agree about facebook, it’s kinda handy to see what they are really like when you get back in from a night out. Facebook also saved me from taking on some scary housemates this year after I looked them up and they were totally opposite to what they had said to me.

I think you be the one in the blue shirt playing with his balls. If that one is not you I’d say you are the bald goalkeeper?

Comment by Rhys

“blue shirt” really doesn’t narrow it down Ryan ;)

Comment by Ryan

I also said “playing with his balls”

I reckon I know which one is you. You could of offered a prize to the winner!

I should bloody think so too! Considering you pointed it out to me ;)

I think it may not be me though, think it could be Andy Wynne. We both look similar from **that** angle.

Is my shocking posture though!

I reckon you’re the one on the far right (of the picture) kneeling down at the front.

There is however some gratuitous testicle groping on the far left of the front row! And what about the poor fella next to him who’s only got one arm! Shocking! :-)

As for Facebook - I’ve never actually heard of getting a girls Facebook id rather than her number? Either way I tended to just get a slap in the face when meeting women so this new craze shouldn’t affect me too much!

Comment by Rhys

If I was going to the Congleton replay today, I’d start a “Crowder! He’s only got one arm” chant to the tune of Colonel Bogie.

He has actually got two by the way ;)

Well I know its one of the people standing in the back though I did scour the team just in case you got a second job! WAIT I see you your the legs behind the burley guy on the right!?!

Yeh I always look up people I meet on facebook. After a night out I usually have more friends lol! The worse thing is when your friends look up people you ‘met’ and tease you about it cos people never choose a good photo for their facebook pics! *oh the shame*

Facebook and MySpace are both fantastic for meeting women. You can totally suss them out and decide if you want to take things further before even really contacting them. Then it’s REALLY easy to flirt over the net, as it is quite non-imposing, because they check it in their own time, so you aren’t ever interrupting their day.
If they aren’t keen, you’ll find out fairly early so no time is wasted going out when it’s not going to get you anywhere.

Call me a power geek… but I have picked up (or been picked up) by erm… more than I’ll say here, through MySpace and Facebook (more so MySpace, because I’m only just getting into Facebook).
