I think it is funny, like you said, how ALL chat rooms are sex rooms now. I visited one not too long ago about soccer and there were sex bots in there too. Annoying.

I can say that I still sometimes have Cybersex. But it isn’t completely with randoms. And usually over MSN. In fact, just last week I did. I didn’t get myself messy reaching for a tissue or sock, however the girl I was speaking to was on webcam, and with me describing things in a fair amount of detail, it was entertaining to watch her reactions.
I have never actually met this girl, but I have been chatting her for quite some time. Problem is, now she does want to meet me. I say problem because the exact same thing has happened before. Not all that long ago… eek!

90% of the people on MySpace and Facebook are there looking to pick up. Or at least find attention from their preferred sex. Because we all want to feel sexy and wanted.

I have been somewhat successful through MySpace. But you’ve got to be smart about how you play it.

As a communication medium, it is the easiest way to talk to the o-desired one (without bumbling along as you drool) without having to approach that person personally. It is very non-intrusive, because they are looking at the messages, comments, wall etc, in their own time. Unlike SMS, or even good ol’ fashioned calling, which takes up their time.
However, depending on how you go, there can be a point where you switch communication channels from internet, to SMS, and sometimes even calling.

I’d write a post on it myself, but since I’m so not anonymous… I can’t ahhahaha.

You’re right. All text chatrooms were/are about virtual sex to some degree or another. I haven’t checked any out in a long long time.

My best 2.0 pickup lines (off the cuff) would include:
“I really Digg your profile, and think your pics are del.icio.us.”
“OMG u sexy, SMS me & meet IRL.”
“You would faint if you were to see the size of my hard drive.”
“Are you on Bluetooth? Because my RSS feed is all linking to you now.”

You’re the one who keeps poking me, mate.

And given that Web 2.0 is all about meeting and sharing “content” and experiences, I’d have thought it’d be everywhere. It probably still is – people just don’t make the distinction between cybersex and any other kind of sex these days.

Not that i’d know. The closest I get to sex these days is typing the phrase in on a keyboard.
