Hi everybody! It never rains, but it chucks it down with yours truly. Above is an update to what I’ve been doing since yesterday.
My computer – Alas, my computer is still screwed. It’s been back and forth to the computer shop, at first they thought it was something straightforward, as I took it to the shop and they had no idea what was wrong with it. They thought it could be my power supply. However, they did said “it could be the motherboard”. This evening, when took it home, plugged it in and it beeped twice quickly and eight time slowly. Surprise surprise, Google think it could be either a video card or a motherboard issue. Oh well, it goes back today.
This Blog - When I say it never rains but it pours it is very true here. My hosting has come back to me saying that I was getting spammed to buggery, and are not happy. I’ve installed Akismet, the latest version of WordPress, Spam Karma 2 and Bad Behaviour. Hopefully it will stop the spammer bastards (spastards, as I call them). Any other ideas?

Me - Off to pub, going to watch Liverpool batter some Turkish side. Hopefully.

Why don’t you block the IP addresses of the spammers so that they won’t come back again?
Bad Behavior should ease the load on your server.
If you need further options, try the ‘TanTan Noodles Simple Spam Filter’ which is a better plugin than it’s name suggests.
I also remember a plugin by the name of ‘Bannage’ which could block based on IP’s.
The price of fame eh?
Blocking IP is a better options. Used Bannage, great tool to consider.
It’s all very well blocking IP addresses, but they attack from a distributed range, so it’d be like trying to stop a waterfall with an umbrella.
(Rubbish addage I know. I’m tired)
