Corey Worthington – Party Liaison

This has been doing the rounds for about a week on social media outlets. The story about Corey Worthington – a 16 Year Old Australian – trashed their parents house whilst away for a weekend. Why has it become so big though? Well, whilst on some Australian News Network, he appeared fantastically unrepentant:

First of all, I’ll be honest – despite being stereotypically Australian for myself – I think he’s a bit of a dickhead. The guy who if he was in the same room as me, who partied at my gaff, would be slung out on their ear.

However, something about the whole curvature of the earth and the fact that he’s over 10,000 miles away means that I have quite a soft spot for him. I dunno why, maybe because I have to endure endless property programs from my parents, maybe because in one interview he has created about 5 or 6 phrases that comedy writers would take years thinking of, or more likely the fact that – in one question (“You should take a good long look at yourself.”), he answered in such a way that showed that – even though he fucked up – he wouldn’t be bullied by tabloid media, who – in my eyes – should be the ones looking at themselves.

Also, where were the parents? I know they were on holiday. But surely you get some sort of inkling that your son is a party boy who would trash your house?

No doubt however after this viral campaign will refuse to die, will probably mean that – ooooh – in 3 or 4 weeks, I’ll be bored of him.

Finally, surely why would you name your child Corey? It’s a sure sign that you’re child will be a party rebellion, just like naming your child Damien would make them a thug, or naming a child Rhys would make them irresistable to the opposite sex.

In other news, I have my second driving lesson tomorrow! Wish me luck!

I don’t understand what’s wrong with the new generation, how can do such things and still not feel sorry for what they have done. Huh…………..
Well all the best for your driving lesson.

  2. Sibz says:

Good luck… and have fun :-)

  3. Debbie says:

I love the presenter and her approach..you’d never hear the BBC interviewing like that..it’s quality.
To be honest he is a bit of a tool so he’s not getting much sympathy from me but yeah you leave your 16 year old boy on their own while you go away on holiday and you can’t expect much good to come from it.

  4. Celeste says:

Like I told you the other day – this is like soooo old news man. ;o)

  5. Mathew says:

This guy seems a hell of a dickhead. I’m sure he’s lapping up the media attention he’s getting right now.

  6. Fern says:

The guy’s a twat, I’m soooo fed up of seeing him on telly now.

Aaaand, on your final note, Dan won’t let me name our next son Rhys :( you need to persuade him otherwise!

    WHAT a PUNK.
I got to break up a similar event that blonde #5 held a few years ago. I kicked a ton of kids out of my parents house and got to be the fun-spoiling b*tch. Lauren was not impressed, but they had begun to steal our DVDs and were into my parent’s liquor. None of them were of age. Glad I got there before things got really out of hand.

  8. Rhys L says:

Yeah, he is just loving he attention. Despite running away, it was all to gain more attention. I mean seriously. He would have known that making an open house invite to EVERYONE on MySpace would’ve ended up in disaster… but at the same time, his parents should’ve known their own son better than to just leave him with the house alone.
He is considered a hero and a legend here in Australia… but I can tell you now, it is short lived… it won’t last long before everyone has forgotten who he is and he will be just another wanker.

  9. Karen says:

Quality story – it’s about time they started fining people for being stupid =)

  10. Melissa says:

Why have I not heard of this guy before now?

It sounds so Skins-like – I’d love to go to a party like that!

  11. Tom Hawkey says:

I’m gonna be honest, i sided more with the kid in that video. The interviewer was pathetic – asking him to take off his glassess over and over in overly-patronising sense, as though she is his mother, whilst doing an interview on national TV. Not exactly biassed and balance technique there love…

  12. Tom Hawkey says:

    correction: unbiassed :_)

  13. Paddy says:

bah, he’s gotten WAY too much attention. There was also a video of one of the radio interviews he did when the radio announcer launched at him to try and rip off his sunglasses – I’ll let you know if I find it, he’s such a toss.

  14. Sandra says:

I’m getting tired of all the media attention this dude is getting.

Good luck with your driving lesson ;)
