I have a suggestion, but you’re probably not going to like it. By no means stop blogging, but do stop blogging about blogging and in particular, advertising on your blog. By this I mean any mentions of adsense, entrecards, adicons, digg, visitor stats, that sort of thing. Leave it all up if you want, but just don’t mention it until Easter Sunday. Although I thing you’re a good blogger, my enjoyment of your writing has been marred recently by your harping on about the above. I want witty anecdotes, discussions of current events that interest you, that sort of thing. Old-school blogging.

Obviously I don’t mean to offend with this, but you did ask for suggestions! If you take it up and manage it all the way through lent (and of course I’d be the judge of what was allowed), I’ll buy you an easter egg.

Sarah is giving up crisps for lent… she’ll never do it.

i wanted to give up work fro 40 days, but my boss was pissed off, so I have failed.

You could attempt to give up masturbation (due to lack of sex) like the guy in 40 days and 40 nights… I bet that’s hard (excuse the innuendo party).

my missus just read this over my shoulder and she says you should give up beef for lent, it’s a working animal and not nice to eat according to her buddhist beliefs..

My housemate is giving up shopping for Lent, she’ll food shop and that is all. Another is giving up chocolate.
I am not giving up anything, firstly because I am weak and secondly, apart from caffeine I don’t really eat/do anything really worth giving up so I’m out of ideas. I tried giving up caffeine last week and my housemates begged me to drink more because I was a bit of a bitch! Hah.

I think Dan’s suggestion of soap is amusing
