Happy St. David’s Day! Today is the day of the Patron Saint of Wales, so us Welshies are celebrating all things Welsh. Most people have a little bit of Welshness in them, and if they don’t – and they’re fit – I’m prepared to be of assistance.

Either way, it’s a day for us Welshies to get blind drunk and insult the English. Well, most days consist of us getting blind drunk and insult the English. However today we are especially blind drunk and insult the English.

Anyway, it’s also a Saturday, and I don’t usually blog on a Saturday. As such, I’m going to give you three things to do today:

  • Hug a Welshman – We give nice hugs. We like hugs.
  • Learn Some Fake Welsh - Last year, I posted a basic Welsh guide. It was immediately torn to shreds by Welsh grammar Nazi’s, but meh, nobody’ll know the difference.
  • Drink Brains – Brains is Wales’ Premier beer, and it’s such a nice pint. So much so that I have been known to go “BRAAAAAIIIIIINNNNSSS” in any pub that has it in a zombie fashion.

What are you doing today that’s Welsh?

I’m living in the capital city. I’m also playing at a wedding this afternoon which I suspect may well involve Welsh people. I may also give someone a cwtch if the opportunity arises. Hope you have a good day :)

  2. Han says:

I’m sitting in front of the TV eating leeks and watching daffodils open! Thats welsh isnt it?!

  3. Debbie says:

Our house has a ton of open daffodils and I will cook a steak, leek and Brains pie.
    Sounds tasty :P

  4. Dan says:

    “All things Welsh”

All I can think of is Leeks and Sheep! hehehehe

But, to commemorate St Davids Day, I will eat my soup which has leeks in it. And gammon, which is an ugly, hairless sheep ;)

  5. Sarah says:

On the topic of welshness, did anyone watch ‘Rob Brydon’s identity crisis’ last night, which was all about Wales and being Welsh? It was quite interesting.

I’m not really doing anything to celebrate St David’s day (I bought some daffodils for my mum if that counts!) but then neither is Anglesey-born and bred Ryan – the shame!

Ryan says – I will be getting blind drunk & insulting the English… and by the English I mean Sarah.

  6. Dave says:

I could have gone to a friend’s birthday in Wales if I wasn’t catching a plane tomorrow. However, I always wonder, why is there a toll charge on the Severn bridge to go into Wales, but not going out? Is it because the cars are going too fast?

  7. Rhys L says:

Despite having a somewhat welsh name… Rhys Lloyd… I don’t know the first thing about wales or what is welsh. But I’ll be happy to get blind drunk and insult the English :D

  8. Guy says:

i love the way you use this day as an excuse!

i also find it amusing how the world over st georges, st davids, and the scottish saint (his name escapes me im sorry) don’t even get eye-lids battered yet paddys day is an almost Worldwide piss up!!

Today i didnt do much welsh… i’ll be honest i had no idea it was st davids day! :D

    happy welsh day!

and… i’m not 100% but Dan, isn’t gammon from pig?

  9. Eva White says:

Happy St. David’s Day to you too. But frankly speaking I had not heard of any such day before I read the above post. Well, you increased my knowledge today.
