Things have got very interesting with Colwyn Bay, six games remaining in the season, and our destiny is in our own hand.
Whilst Retford have been crowned champions, they cannot go up due to the fact that their ground is not upto scratch. Therefore, the team that finishes 2nd (Most likely Cammell Laird) will go up along with the winner of the playoffs. With Grantham only having two games remaining, and Goole and Stocksbridge both losing points, it should be a cracking run in.
It was Retford we played on Saturday, and after a guard of honour to the champions, they gave us glimpses of why they are champions. Nevertheless the Bay took the lead and held onto half time. Following a dodgy free kick they equalised and almost stole it at the death. Nevertheless we held on and drew to the runaway champions in a great game. We seemed to have left an impression too!
Sunday was spent pretty much shacked up with a nasty hangover. Nevertheless I did manage to accompany my mum for a meal in the local. Was rather posh! I had chinese chicken pancakes in hoi-sin sauce, and my mum had gammon and stilton ciabatta. Though unfortuantely some dude pushed in front of me at the bar and looked down on me like I was scum (I was wearing my new hooded jumper). I was pissed.
Finally, most important news from the weekend was that I’ve taken the plunge, and booked my theory test. May 8th is my test. What should I focus on with my revision? (and also Melissa, have you booked yours? Or have I got you confused with somebody else who is learning to drive at the same time?)

I don’t know what it’s like for the new theory and hazard perception test but when I took mine they asked about road signs, and sign posts a lot. With 50 or something questions they could ask anything. Good luck for that day!
What a bizarre menu that sounds like
I agree, that restraunt sounds unfocused. A pet hate of mine, places that try and do a little bit of everything are usually due to a rubbish head chef hahah…
Sorry Rhys, I am a food snob according to my friends… I can’t see it ¬_¬
Awww you’ll be missing out on a tasty treat! Food is to DIE for there!
(Comments wont nest below this level)
I just read the highway code. Another guy in there (my mum got speaking to his parents) had a book no joke 4inches thick! and he’d read it through and been testing himself and everything. He failed btw!
Like Han says, just read the highway code. You’ve been driving for a while now, so should know most of it anyway.
The only bastard part of it is learning the stopping distances, the rest should be (hopefully) self-explanatory.
So you’re finally putting your expert road sign knowledge to the test? Only 20 years in training!
Just get there and you will do well. Just remember not to go with a hangover! And, strictly, no Chinese food for six hours before the test!
Not booked mine yet, I know nothing about proper stopping distances and stuff. I,m good at signs though. Aiming to do mine around the end of June so I’d best get learning.
