Welcome back! It doesn’t feel like a Tuesday does it? Well, how was your weekend? Mine was rather fun, as I did a heck of a lot.
Following a driving lesson which I felt didn’t go particularly well (I screwed up on maenouvers), I headed to Llandudno. Not just any night, oh no, this was the Victorian Extravaganza.

I remember when it REALLY used to be Victorian, with people dressed up and traditional entertainment. It has become more mainstream and less victorian, where most of the old vehicles have simply become too expensive to run, but it’s to appeal to people. It’s not all that bad though, though the KFC outside the Waltzers wasn’t that enjoyable, because they repeated the same song about 50 times.
There were a few new things this year, and one was a old Victorian thing that fascinated me.

It was an old Victorian boxing/wrestling tent. Basically, people could either take on one of the “carnival fighters”, or fight one of their mates in boxing or wrestling. I would’ve thought in todays health and safety rules that this would’ve been banned, but oh no, it wasn’t.
Most of the people volunteering were overly macho chav’s, so, for £3, to see them:-
- Get battered by a proffessional fighter
- Get battered by their mates
Was well worth it. It was rather fun, in a wierd bloodlust sort of way.
On Sunday, I met up with one of my mates to show him the extravaganza, however, we were getting a bit bored of it so went to the pub, which was full of Stoke City fans. They’ve come out of the woodwork now that they’ve got promoted. The worst thing about this pub was the food. We didn’t eat any of it, but the markup on a meat based chip topping was immense:-

Yesterday was fun, as I headed out alone to Prom Day.

Don’t worry though, I soon met up with mates (who thought I was in New York. Fools, don’t they read this blog?), and we headed for fish and chips, and I thought the chippy lady – a nubile young lass in her early 20′s – fancied me. She gave me an extra fish portion – result!
So, all in all, it was a great weekend, and the weather has been gorgeous. I’ve actually got a touch of sunburn! There was one other thing that I have been working on, but that will be announced in good time.
Today however, is the big day. I’m going for my theory exam for my driving at 5:45pom today. Twitter followers will probably hear the result pretty sharpish, but I’m nervous. Wish me the most luck in the world!

Good luck with your theory Rhys. Have a gander at my blog later in the day for tales of my bank holiday weekend.
Glad you had a good’un.
What about other Rhys Readers?
Good luck Rhys, toes+fingers crossed for you…. actually, I tried to cross my toes, realised only can cross big toes with one next to them and no others, but still, you get the point
I can do that.
I can also cross my two smallest toes on my right foot
Nubile lasses alas, do not take any fancy to me and give me extra portions of fish. Problem with growing up I think! Congratulations on your great week end.
That would be tons of fun to box a friend. I did once with the giant boxing gloves and it was a blast!
Love the photos on this page.
