Regular readers will know I’ve been learning to drive for about half a year. I am desperately seeming to sacrifice all of my chances of passing.
A few months ago, I talked about my trip to Rhyl, which should’ve included my theory test. You see, idiots like me forget minor details like driving licences when they sit their theory test. I eventually passed (and lusted over some girl on the train. Damn it’s a good train journey from Colwyn Bay to Bangor, even without that), but it didn’t half bother me that I fucked up royally.
This week, I did another little fuckup.
You see, my mum has intrusted in me her Toyota Yaris, which looks something like this:

It’s all well and good, but I’m used to driving Volkswagen Golf’s, which look like this:

It’s been a long road to this point. My favourite brother (sorry Rick, but you are in New York and I am jealous for that) had to learn in my dad’s totally unsuitable cars, so I’ve had to do convincing to my mum to learn in a car with power steering, and brakes, I’ve had the talk on how cars handle differently, and how I should drive easily with other people’s cars. I’ve convinced my mum that I’m a safe, responsible driver and that I can handle her car.
She’s bought me insurance, and was all set to go for a drive on Tuesday.
Only I forgot my L plates.
Silly me.
Luckily it wasn’t that bad, and I drove a bit the next day.
I’m sure you can chance it though by saying “oh, they must’ve blown off”. What is the law about this?
Quiet weekend again for me this weekend, so I’m using it to catch up and promote a few projects. Guy’s a livesaver for Shagablogger, so I feel I should work on that. See you Monday!

and what about me? slaving away making the odd thread/comment!!?
lolz you are a silly bean, I can see the day where one day you forget the car!!!
I drive a Yaris and I looooove it!!
I wanted that car but in a different colour.
I don’t think you’d have gotten away with the “blown off” excuse.
You need to make check-lists.
Get magnetic L plates, when not using them simply pop them in the glove box! Never again will you have this problem.
Mums got a yaris – been driving it few days, there ok but lack power! i miss my old golf
Exactly what I do, although they spend most of their time in the glove box since I’m too tired these days to go out driving.
I remember how exciting it was to learn driving. Of course nowdays I don’t drive much if I can help it. The traffic is killing.
