Hurrah for the Smoking Ban!

Who was it who said you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone?

Over the weekend I saw a dismal performance by pretty much every football team or nation I cared about, and also had a house party to celebrate my friend’s 24th birthday. I cannot recall the last time I went to a house party, but I loved it. Much more fun than going out to the pub, as you felt so relaxed as we drank and play a serious amount of Wii gamage.

A few of my friend’s smoke. I don’t have a problem with that in the slightest. This is not an anti “god I hate smoking” post, because truth be told I don’t. I did used to smoke for a bit, so I don’t have a problem with those who do.

However, house parties do not suffer the same rules as bars, so you could smoke indoors.

Gah, my nose was running, and my clothes Sunday morning stunk to blue heaven (was feeling peckish, so I went to KFC. Le nom). I couldn’t believe I used to go out with that stuff stinking me out the next day.

So, whilst before I was slightly for the smoking ban, I’m now all for it.

How about you? For or against it?

Hahaha, love the fact that you hate ending up smelling of fags, but willingly place yourself in KFC’s rancid chicken-smog…

Anyway. I quit smoking 48 days ago. Well done me.

I’m for the smoking ban but I was when I was a smoker as well.

I quit smoking about 4 years ago now.

I smoke and I support the ban, the restaurants I go to smell so much better and the dust is significantly less since I banned smoking in my front room (the balcony is in a right state though!)

  4. Rhys L says:

Definitely support. Although for a short while there the clubs I frequented STANK of body odour…. it was GROSS. No smelly smoke to mask the BO. Fortunately they have increased the ventilation (once the smoking has gone???) and actually spray the place with deodourisers to keep the stink away. But on those hot busy nights… it can start to smell again.

    yay Tom

    does this include green? ;)

  6. Guy says:

definately all for it! as for the house party.. guessing the people who owned the house smoked cos it must of stank in there?!

got no problem with people smoking just hate the stench the next day… do have to agree with Tom on the kfc point thou lol

  7. Karen says:

    totally for it.

wish they’d ban people smoking right outside the doors though. and having to sit next to smokers in an office all day is almost as bad. they should be made to air themselves. i pop mints after lunch too. wouldnt kill them to do the same.

ooh and i banned smoking at my wedding long before the ban. i should write laws…. :o )

  8. Tom says:

indeed it does. in fact, today is 50 days no smoke at all. I might have to celebrate with a big juicy spli…. oh, balls.
