Twitter! It’s become huge in the last year, with most famous people and quite a few unfamous ones having twitter accounts. I have two of the bad boys – retrogarden and rhyswynne – and I’m in discussion to start a third.

Anyway, a lot of people have been asking me (for some reason) how to “make it” on Twitter. Truth is, I don’t really know, but I do know one way to get yourself to the top.

Invent a word!

Seriously, if you can invent a word, you can become a the darling of the Twitterverse (which was invented by somebody!), there’s a very easy way to invent words for twitter:-

TW + (word with an i fairly near the beginning) = Twitter word

Allow me to suggest a few examples:-

Twidow – Somebody who’s husband spends far too much time on Twitter.

Twinjury – RSI gained from Twitter.

Twinvent – Inventing words for Twitter.

So now your go! Twinvent some words for Twitter, and put them in the comments. Winner gets a bagel.

I’m working on Twitile (TWITter+mobILE) a mobile client for Twitter.

  2. The Open End says:

I just tweeted twidow. That’s classic. I’m also using twizzler, which is what I literally am, namely, a twitterer who works at sizzler. Any takers?

  3. Melissa says:

I can’t think of anything… Dawn Porter (she of ‘Dawn Goes Lesbian’) made up Flittering though. Which is mainly what we do on Twitter!

I will think of something though.

  4. Fern says:

I’ve got it, I thought long and hard and came up with “twat” :D

  5. Rick says:

That is a fine list of Twitisms you’ve got there.
