I was bored yesterday, so I took a trip to Conwy.
Conwy is a small village around 5 miles away from where I live, and we kinda generally avoid it. Not with good reason, it’s a lovely place, but it can be a bit touristy. However, spending 100% of the last few weeks in either Rhyl, Colwyn Bay or Llandudno, I needed a change, so I got in the car with my mum, and headed out.
It was a perfect destress for a couple of hours, bliss in fact. It was really busy too, which is great. A sizeable portion of the crowd were not speaking in English, which is great – as I think Conwy is one of the best tourist attractions in Wales. It always surprises me when people talk about UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world, very few people mention Conwy, even though they have been there and it is technically one.
Anyway pictures speak louder than words, and here’s a selection of pictures from the day.

I love the Welsh for Barbecue

On the way home we noticed a bunch of people staring at the train station – which was odd, as whilst Llandudno Junction station is quite an important station – it’s not worth taking photos of.

However, what it turned out to be was a steam engine! The Duke of Sutherland was doing a trip from Chester to Holywell (I think). Was there any significance of the train? Let us know in the comments!
Here’s a video of it leaving the station. Commentary from myself and my mum!
How was your weekend? Were you busy?

I’m amazed. There’s a Spar logo in your post. Even I’m not that bad and I adore Spar! Even if the font is rather ugly.
I was worried when you mentioned train spotting yesterday afternoon, but that’s actually a very pretty train so I’ll forgive you.
