Rhys, thanks for taking the time to write such a thorough review. You really pegged our target audience too... we wrote the book for business owners, marketing managers, etc who were clueless as to where to start with online marketing.

There are tons of niche books about email marketing, social media, online advertising, search engine optimization, etc. For the average business owner, reading 8 different books to get up to speed on the fundamentals of online marketing wouldn't be feasible.

We wanted to give them an overview and resources that they could then expand upon by reading other books if they desired.

Thanks again for the excellent review, and glad you enjoyed the book!

I got the hardcopy (i.e. not PDF). Remind me nearer the time when I come down to stay, I'll bring it with me.

I'll be brutally honest, I did skim read through the affiliate marketing section. I did read it as "the guy who does promotion from Britannia Wrestling Promotions", rather than anything else (a lot of what was said in the book I have gone onto use for the BWP - particularly an email newsletter & press releases, which have had hugely positive effects on the company), beyond setting up a store with our merchandise and getting affiliates to promote our merchandise for commission, it's an area we're not looking to exploit at the moment.

I'm not denying that affiliate marketing is massive area, one that probably deserves it's own book (like SEO, and possibly Social Media - though how many times can you say "You can't spam your links constantly, make friends with people" I'm not so sure!), but as a general introduction & starter, it's more than adequate.

This book isn't the be all and end all for any of the methods mentioned in the book, but it DOES give a great overview on where to start.
