New WordPress Plugin – WP Email Capture
Well, I’ve been beavering away again to make a plugin, and I’m happy to say it’s ready to be released. This is WP Email Capture, a plugin designed to improve the marketing of your site, help distribute ebooks & build up email lists for mailing lists.
Email marketing, if done correctly, can be huge, and WP Email Capture allows you to capture people’s email addresses for mailing by giving them a double opt in form (i.e. you need to confirm via email address that you want to join the newsletter). You can use this to build up a list of contacts for product launches & similar, which can be easily exported to email marketing programs such as Aweber.
Features
- Widget Ready.
- Separate landing pages for completion of form, so you can distribute software/ebooks etc.
- Uses WordPress’ internal wp_mail function for sending mail.
- Easily integrated with posts & pages.
- Dashboard Widget.
- Export data into CSV files, compatible with most major Email Marketing Programmes (including Aweber, Mailchimp, Groupmail, Constant Contact)
- Double opt in, so compatible with CAN-SPAM act.
- And completely free!

I really like it and I can’t wait to start using it!! Thank you Rhyssssssss!!!
This looks quite useful. I’m not ready to start my mailing list just yet, but I’m going to give this a shot as soon as I am.
I have a question… can we set up additional fields to capture other information? I need the name, email and zip code when someone subscribes.
Thanks, Rhys! Looks great. cannot wait to use it.
I just tried wp email capture and found it super easy to setup. I am a complete newbie and still get confused with all the options in the wp dashboard when trying to setup a new plugin so you can imagine how my knowledge is pretty basic.
That being said I got it all done without a problem and in just a few minutes.
I did however get an error at first when I was testing because I didn’t fill in the field about url to go to after confirmation. I kept getting an error about wrong confirmation code. Once I setup all the parameters it worked perfectly.
Thanks so much.
Hi,
I’m having trouble with the background image in the widget not showing up in internet explorer as well as the input bars being too long in firefox.
Other than that I like the usability of this plugin!!
Thanks
Great, simple plugin – especially for my clients who haven’t figured out their email marketing provider yet. One feature request: ability to resend an email confirmation for unconfirmed addresses.
