If there is no inbound link from InComment, it means that the user reached the page from a source that was not a web page. InComment simply checks the HTTP address of the previous page when entry to the site is made, so if there’s no previous pages, then there’ll be no referrer.

Examples of when InComment is used includes the following:-

  • Typed In Traffic
  • Email Clients - such as Outlook, Thunderbird etc. (not clients like webmail)
  • Mass Commenting Programs - such as Comment Kahuna
  • Bookmarks in Web Browsers
  • Twitter Clients - such as Twirl & Tweetdeck
  • RSS Reader Programmes

This is by no means an exclusive list. If you know of any further problems, please contact me.
